About Me

Introduction

I am Mark Keynes, a veteran of 28 years service in the Australian Army, from 1982 to 2010 in the Royal Australian Infantry.

I’ve been a Private, acting Lance Corporal, 2nd Lieutenant, Lieutenant, Captain and Major. I've served at: Wagga Wagga, Singleton, Townsville, Portsea, Brisbane, Malaysia, Wagga Wagga, Brisbane, Singapore, Canungra, Thailand, Weipa, Canberra, East Timor, Townsville, East Timor (re-test) Washington DC, and finally back home to Adelaide.

Before and after service I've been a Farm Hand, Factory Hand, Jackaroo, Veterans Advocate, Volunteer Firefighter, Tour Guide, Trade Mentor, Police Auxiliary and up till recently (Jan 25) impersonating a lawn mowing man.

.

Wear and tear over the years means I can't quite leap the tall buildings as well as I used to.

I actively support veteran health initiatives and I'm using

Podcasting and Oral History for this purpose.

I volunteer with my local RSL and  Disaster Relief Australia.

I am married with family and live in Byford WA
